Champions! Saturday’s thrilling win at Ascot United clinched the title for Diamonds with a game to spare, though it looked for so long that the champagne was going to remain on ice!
Trailing 1-0 with six minutes to go and having had a goal disallowed and seen countless chances go begging, it looked like being one of those days for Twyford.
But Callum Moffat levelled then, with time fast running out, hit a dramatic late winner to move Comets out of reach of Reeves at the top of the table.
It was a stunning finish to a remarkable season in which the boys have never known when they are beaten. In fact, the win at Ascot was the fourth time the boys have come from behind to secure three valuable points.
The late comeback also secured a 15th successive win to leave the Diamonds with the very impressive record of played 17, won 16, lost one with one game still to play.
